Tommy's Cuisine

We really loved this place. The food and service was phenomenal. I was just a little disappointed because I expected more of a fine dining experience. When we walked in there was a volleyball team in gym shorts and jerseys and a lot of people dressed casually. The service was also very casual. We also noted that we were on our honeymoon and didn’t receive anything special like a nice dessert. Just not what we expected. We enjoyed our dinner though.:)

What a shame!!! The food was good but service was terrible!! I had heard such great things but they put us in a private room with 2 other larger parties and it was deafening (so loud) the waiter was too inexperienced to handle a room this size, we were ignored as we were just 2 people vs the larger parties, waiter messed up my wine order then he messed up my food order. I waited so long my husband finished his plate which was good because it would have been cold by the time mine came out. I had to send it back and just ask for the check and no one cared. As a restaurant worker, they could have done so much like offered us a free beverage while I waited or maybe given us the option to wait together and keep my husband’s food warm or they could have done what I asked and just bring noodles and sauce but nothing was offered, no one cared and they were still going to charge me so I just paid and left. Terrible experience unfortunately.

Went to Tommy's last night with my girlfriend for our first time eating in New Orleans and it was PHENOMENAL. The complimentary bread with oil was nice to start, the Chicken Parmigiana was the best chicken Parmigiana I've had in my life. It was crispy while still being moist, the cheese on top is ooey gooey amazing, the angel hair pasta and gravy was heavenly. I loved it. My girlfriend got the fettuccine Alfredo with the gulf bay shrimp and she also loved her dish. They also certainly do not skim on the portions. She had to get a to go box And I left STUFFED. We split a tiramisu for dessert and also very much enjoyed it. Dim lights, candle light, very romantic spot and I'm so glad I took her here. The service was very friendly and our server was sweet and personable with humor. Absolutely zero complaints about our experience here and would love to come here again. It may be pricey, but it is well well WELL WORTH IT. I'll be recommending to anybody I know who is visiting New Orleans as it was the best way to start my birthday weekend.

Service was slow and it wasn't very busy at all. The veal Parmigiano was way overdone to the point of breading being black. The broccoli needed to be cooked longer as it was so hard. Fettuccine with shrimp was ok but nothing tasty, it was bland. Wish we'd picked a different place to eat. The bottle of wine was the only saving grace - Silk and spice.
